“HIT-SQUAD FOR JESUS” – HITTING THE CAPE FLATS IN SOUTH AFRICA

It is a cool Saturday morning in the informal settlement on the fringes of Cape Town city. The area is called the Cape Flats and the poorest of the poor live here in terrible conditions. Inside the Judea Harvest evangelism tent it is much warmer with the chatter of children that are filling the tent. MINISTERING TO THE POOR & TOUCHING THE HEART OF GOD

During the life and ministry of Jesus He naturally gravitated towards the poor and the needy. Filled with compassion, He healed the sick, delivered the demon possessed, fed the hungry and defended the case of the poor. A couple of times in the gospels it is recorded that the church people, (Pharisees and Sadducees) accused Jesus of spending His time and ministry amongst the sinners, drunkards and prostitutes. Once He was called a “friend of sinners and prostitutes”. He responded to these accusations by saying: “The doctor is sent for the sick, and is not needed amongst the healthy.” -[read more]

Africa has seen the convergence of many remarkable evangelism efforts from across the globe. As a result Christianity has shown incredible growth on the entire continent of Africa during the past 100 years, thus becoming the religion of the masses, especially in Southern Africa (Johnstone & Mandryk 2001: 21). It can be stated that the growth and success of Christianity in Africa has been nothing short of a miracle. When God is visiting a country or continent there are always components that brings this about. In Acts 4:30-31 we see God manifesting himself at a powerful prayer meeting. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ROCKLANDS:

Last month we reported on this church receiving a two pole tent. They have subsequently been showing the Jesus Film in the tent as well as conducting services every night. Already approximately 100 new people have indicated their intention to join this new church plant. - [read more]

- This satellite started in 2002 with Pastor Abel Zuma who was a Postmaster at the time. He had a passion to see Mamelodi reached for Christ. Careful research was done and GIS maps were created to  determine how many churches are still needed and where they should be planted. - [read more]
